2026 6th International Conference on Energy Engineering, New Energy Materials and Devices Held in Shenyang


From April 24 to 26, 2026 6th International Conference on Energy Engineering, New Energy Materials and Devices (NEMD 2026) took place at the Shenyang Sun Lion Marriott Hotel in Shenyang. Approximately one hundred experts and scholars from the energy and advanced materials fields, both domestically and internationally, gathered for the event. The conference featured 5 plenary lectures, over 20 oral presentations, and 20 poster sessions, fostering intensive exchanges on cutting-edge research achievements.

Chen Yanming, Vice President of Shenyang University of Technology, and Sun Yun, Chairman of the Liaoning Chemical Society, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Vice President Chen highlighted the university’s deep foundation in energy equipment and materials, noting that the School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, which hosted the conference, has distinctive strengths in areas such as new energy storage and conversion, and functional material design. Chairman Sun Yun pointed out that the Society will continue to build exchange platforms to serve technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the energy and chemical engineering sectors.

The plenary session featured remarkable presentations. Professor Luo Wenbin, a national-level young talent from Northeastern University, elaborated on the oxygen reduction mechanism of layered oxide cathode materials. Professor Boon Tong Goh from the University of Malaya introduced interfacial regulation of silicide nanowires for electrochemical energy storage and magnetic applications. Professor Zhang Linnan from Shenyang University of Technology presented a novel method for separating valuable components from waste wind turbine blades. Associate Professor Wu Yuhan demonstrated structural design strategies for layered vanadium oxides in calcium-ion batteries. Professor Shi Fanian highlighted research progress on nano‑silicon anode materials modified synergistically with metals and carbon.

The conference was organized by Shenyang University of Technology, with co‑organizers including Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, Harbin Engineering University, and the Liaoning Chemical Society. Through high-level academic interactions, the event injected new momentum into the deep integration of industry, academia, and research in the energy materials field, while also providing a significant platform for promoting the translation and application of relevant technological achievements.
